Press Release Date: November 19, 2025
Fargo, ND — Andrzej Noyszewski, a longtime Fargo resident known for his commitment to community, education, and the outdoors, has announced his candidacy for the Fargo Park Board. His decision follows years of daily engagement with Fargo’s parks walking, running, cross country skiing, biking, and mountain biking in every season and a desire to strengthen the natural spaces that support the well being of the community.

“Fargo’s parks give us something that city life alone cannot: space to breathe, reflect, and find peace,” Noyszewski said. “Each season along the Red River reveals new beauty. Those daily experiences, and the conversations I’ve had with fellow park users, inspired me to serve our community in a more personal way.”
Noyszewski earned his PhD in Genomics and Bioinformatics from North Dakota State University and later conducted invasive species research funded by the Minnesota Invasive Terrestrial Plant and Pest Center (MITPPC), with studies carried out at the University of Minnesota in St. Paul. His scientific background provides a strong foundation in ecology, habitat restoration, and long term environmental management, expertise he hopes to bring to the Park Board.
A central part of his platform is restoring native landscapes and improving the ecological health of the Red River corridor. “Some of the flood zone and disturbed areas along the river need more care,” he explained. “With strategic restoration and collaboration with NDSU and state partners, we can protect and enhance these natural spaces for future generations.”

Noyszewski also emphasizes the importance of stronger trail connectivity. He envisions a unified network that allows long, uninterrupted walking, running, and biking across Fargo. As e-bikes become more popular and make it possible for people to travel longer distances and explore more parks, creating strong and continuous connections between park spaces is becoming even more important. He also sees great potential in additional pedestrian and bike bridges that connect Fargo and Moorhead more directly and open the river corridor to more residents.
Another priority is strengthening Island Park as a central community gathering space. “Island Park has the potential to be Fargo’s own Central Park, peaceful, beautiful, and vibrant for all ages,” he said.
Noyszewski’s leadership is grounded in collaboration. He has organized book studies, taught Religious Education, and created spaces where people can connect, learn, and grow. He values listening and respecting differing perspectives and hopes to bring this bridge building approach to the Fargo Park Board.
“I enjoy bringing people together and hearing their ideas,” he said. “When we listen to each other, we create solutions that are stronger and more meaningful. I hope to bring that collaborative spirit to the Fargo Park Board.”
His wife, Lynette, shared additional insight into what motivates him.
“Andrzej grew up surrounded by beautiful parks in Poland, places to walk, reflect, and enjoy the beauty of creation. Those experiences shaped him, and he wants people in Fargo to experience that same peace and beauty. He sees the big picture, asks the right questions, and is always thinking about how we can improve things together. He is a natural problem solver with an eye for beauty and a deep desire to serve our community. He is the dedicated, reliable voice we need.”
Noyszewski believes Fargo’s parks should be welcoming and accessible to everyone, including families, seniors, newcomers, children, and individuals of all abilities. His vision is simple. Support parks that make Fargo healthier, more peaceful, and more connected.
“Better Parks. Better Community. Better Living.”
